Our story

Local Table is a laneway café built around one long table: good coffee, a short menu cooked with care and a room where nobody hurries you out.

A note from the kitchen

The room is built around a single long table made from old timber, with smaller tables along the window for anyone who likes a corner of their own. The menu is short on purpose: a few breakfasts done carefully, a lunch list that follows the season and cakes baked in the morning for the afternoon.

A guest at the long timber table by the window, under hanging lamps
A barista in a cap and apron pours latte art into a cup
We buy from growers and bakers we know, and we would rather run out of something than serve it tired. The coffee is roasted for milk, and the bar pours it the way you like it.
A small table by an open window onto a green courtyard, a bud vase on the sill
More than a place for breakfast, it is a place for company: a table for two by the window, or the long table for a slow lunch with friends.

From all of us,

the Local Table crew
